Share this puzzle on X →Chess for real ALGO. The stakes lock into an Algorand contract before the first move, and the contract pays the winner straight to their wallet — no deposits, no withdrawal requests, no balance anyone has to honour.
The mine is open: every decisive staked game mines CHESS for both players, on their own stake. Nothing is sold and nothing is held back: the board is the only door in, and it is the same door for everyone.

Stake from 1 ALGO against a friend or against Stockfish. The contract holds both sides and pays the winner.

Twenty masters. Twenty million.
A token nobody can buy from us: every CHESS is mined at the board, through twenty halving epochs named for the masters of chess history, from al-Suli to Fischer. Zero premine, zero sale: nobody was handed a coin, the first ones were mined on September 20, 2026.
Live since September 20, 2026. The rules were public before the first coin existed.
Both players stake the same. The contract keeps 10% of the pot and pays the rest to the winner, in one block.
A draw is different: the fee drops to 1% and you get 0.99 ALGO back. Losing a drawn game to a fee is not a thing here.
The ×10 long shot on SF5 — or take the close fight, SF4 at ×2 for 2 ALGO. A draw refunds your stake.
Or play for nothing first — every engine level is free practice, no wallet, works offline.
Beat Stockfish — one rule, four round prices
The further the engine sits above your level, the more a win pays. That is the whole system — and every price is written in the contract before you stake anything.
You always get two cards: the first engine above you at its ladder price — a game you can genuinely win — and the one after it, always at ×10. A new player at 1500 sees SF4 at ×2 and SF5 at ×10. Win, and the contract pays stake × multiplier in one block.
Climb, and the whole menu climbs with you — every 300 points it shifts one engine up. Levels below your window stay free practice, forever. Your Stockfish level moves only on games against Stockfish: beating people never changes these odds. Ratings are Glicko-2, recomputed from the full game history rather than stored as a number we could edit.
The money never passes through us
Both stakes lock into the contract before the first move. Until you sign, nothing has been taken from your wallet — and the app says so, in those words.
The contract pays the winner directly, in about three seconds. No withdrawal requests, no pending balance, no minimum cash-out.
If an opponent vanishes, a timeout lets you reclaim your stake from the contract yourself. Nobody can strand your money, not even us.
The fee, in full: 10% of a duel pot, 1% on a draw. That is the whole business model — written in the contract, like everything else on this page.
Read from app 3693252754 global state, at most five minutes ago — reserve 1436.786048 ALGO, ceiling 287.357209 ALGO. The reserve is what Stockfish can lose; the ceiling is a fixed share of it. Algorand blocks finalise instantly, in about three seconds.

Come and take a seat.
The board is small and young on purpose — the reserve grows before the ceilings do. Early players get the quietest tables and the best odds we will ever offer.
