Twenty masters.
Twenty million.
Every CHESS is mined at the board, and the supply unwinds through twenty epochs, each named for a master of the game, in the order chess history wrote them. Each master guards his own treasury: the deeper into history you mine, the fewer coins he holds and the more ALGO each one demands. When Fischer's last coins are gone, not one CHESS will ever be created again.
Each master holds half the coins of the one before, at twice the price. Supply fixed at birth: 20,000,000 · zero premine: on day one nobody owns a coin.
Playing is the only mine.
Every decisive staked game mines CHESS, duel or Stockfish alike; draws mine nothing. No sale, no airdrop, no team pool. Zero CHESS exists that was not earned at the board.
The rate is public.
In the opening epoch: stake 1 ALGO, mine 1 CHESS. You know what a game mines before you play it, and the rule is the same for every wallet.
Empty pool, next master.
An epoch ends when its pool is mined out, never on a calendar. The first epoch mines 1 CHESS per ALGO staked. Each new epoch holds half the coins and mines half as much: 0.5 CHESS per ALGO, then 0.25, and so on.

al-Suli

Companion to three caliphs and the finest shatranj player of his age, al-Suli wrote the first books that treated chess as a science: openings, endgame studies, annotated play. For three centuries afterward, the highest praise in the game was to say someone played like al-Suli.
- Court companion to the caliphs al-Muktafi and al-Muqtadir
- Also Baghdad's great chronicler: his history books survive beside his chess
- Died in Basra, in hiding, after a verse offended a prince
al-Suli holds half of everything that will ever exist: the cheapest CHESS there will ever be.

Every ALGO staked in the same epoch mines at the same public rate, for every wallet. One epoch is 10,000,000 ALGO staked, whether it takes a season or a decade.
- Mining costs real money. Every CHESS has real ALGO staked behind it in a game that was actually played and settled, with the table’s normal fees on it. Throwaway games are a losing trade, not a printer.
- Called-off and flagged games mine nothing. The fair-play engine already analyses every staked game, move by move. A frozen account’s games earn zero.
- Five wallets, one funder, one miner. Wallets are grouped by the account that first funded them, the same rule that already guards the betting limits.
Stake it at the table
Challenge anyone to a CHESS duel: both players stake CHESS, and the winner takes the whole pot. Same board, same clock, same fair play engine. The small table fee is collected by no one: it burns on-chain. These games mine nothing: only ALGO at the table mines.
Spend it, and it burns
The weekly tournament arrives after launch: the seat is paid in CHESS, the prize pool is ALGO. Spent CHESS is collected by no one: it is destroyed on-chain, forever.
Spent CHESS burns. All of it, forever.
- The table fee of every CHESS duel burns the moment the pot settles.
- Every tournament ticket burns at the door, once the weekly tournament opens.
Burned means destroyed on-chain, for anyone to verify: collected by no one, recycled never. What the mine created, only play can destroy, so after Fischer the supply can only fall.
The furnace lights with the mine on September 20. Both burns pay into one public address that can receive CHESS and can never send it: the table fee of every CHESS duel, and every tournament ticket.
- Zero premine. Zero allocation. Zero sale. On day one, nobody owns a single CHESS. The only door into the supply is the board.
- One public rate for every wallet. Every CHESS ever minted traces to a settled game anyone can audit on-chain.
- Every coin mined goes to the player who mined it. All of it. The protocol keeps nothing and holds nothing back.

After Fischer, not one CHESS will ever be created again.
The supply can only fall. The story can only end once.
The mine is not open yet. The tables are.
CHESS launches with its distributor contract, under exactly these rules. The game it will be mined in is already live on MainNet: real stakes, real payouts, about three seconds to settle.
